Indian Calendar, the Panchang in Your Pocket
A Hindu calendar, a daily panchang and the small daily checks of Indian life in one free app. Festivals and public holidays, today's tithi and nakshatra, the Rahu Kaal window, and three calendar systems side by side. Most of it works with no internet.

- If the day carries one
An Indian household runs on more than a date. A wedding, a griha pravesh, a shraddha or a new venture is timed by the tithi and the nakshatra, and almost everyone avoids starting something in Rahu Kaal.
That information already exists, but it is scattered. A wall panchang at home, a different app for gold rates, another for fuel prices, and a search every morning for what today actually is.
So the brief was to gather the day into one screen, and to make it work when the phone has no signal.
Three Calendars, One Date
India keeps more than one calendar, so the app carries all three and converts between them.
- VSVikram SamvatThe traditional calendar most festivals and family dates are counted in.
- SakaSaka SamvatIndia's national civil calendar, used in official records and the gazette.
- ADGregorianThe working calendar of the office, the school and the flight booking.
What the Panchang Tells You
Tap any date and the full reading opens, not just the festival name.
- Tithi and pakshaThe lunar day and whether the moon is waxing or waning
- NakshatraThe lunar mansion the moon sits in
- YogaThe sun and moon combination for the day
- KaranaThe half tithi, used for finer timing
- Rahu KaalThe inauspicious window, with exact start and end
- Shubh muhuratAuspicious dates by month and by occasion
- Sunrise and sunsetFor the day and the place you are in
- MoonMoonrise, moonset and the phase

How We Built It
A calendar that has to be right about dates people plan their lives around.
Three systems, one engine
Vikram Samvat, Saka Samvat and the Gregorian calendar are converted from a single source, so a date cannot disagree with itself between screens.
Panchang values, not typed text
Tithi, nakshatra and Rahu Kaal are calculated per day and per place. Lunar dates move every year, so anything typed in by hand goes stale within months.
Offline where it counts
Festivals, holidays, the panchang and the converter are held in the app. Rates, news and radio need a connection, and only those.
Two phone platforms and a website
The app ships on Google Play and the App Store, and the same calendar runs on the web for anyone who would rather not install it.
